Donnellys is a thriving two-partner accountancy firm based in Bolton serving growing businesses that need reliable, proactive business and financial advice.

We have built our reputation on providing first-class client service with quality work delivered on time and at great value for money.

The fact that the firm has acquired most of its clients through recommendations from existing clients and third parties is testimony to the professionalism, reliability and integrity that has characterised the practice since its inception.

The Practice

The original practice (J & F Donnelly) was set up by Jack (John) Donnelly in 1974 at Peel House, which, apart from a brief relocation while the building was refurbished, has been home to the firm ever since.

In 1991 Angela Donohoe was appointed as a partner and the firm was renamed Donnellys.

Nick Baxendale joined the practice in 1994, bringing with him a small portfolio of clients to augment the firm’s client base.

The following year, the founding partner, Jack Donnelly, decided to retire and concentrate on his main love – walking in the Lake District!

In addition to the two partners, we have a strong "backroom" staff of tax and accounting experts dedicated to providing first-class service to our clients. Katherine Kershaw, a former Inspector of Taxes with HMRC, and John Riley, have been with the firm from the very early stages and have built formidable reputations in their fields.
